Energy audit DIN 16247-1

Artical 8 energy audit

The Energy Services Act was changed in April 2015. Since then,  none SMEs have to carry out an aftical 8 energy audit according and repeat this every 4 years.

Another option is to introduce energy management in accordance with ISO 50001 or EMAS.

During an energy audit, the essential and conspicuous consumers are recorded and assessed. Basically 90% of the total energy consumption must be proven.

Proposals for measures for an efficient use of energy are drawn up.

There is a simple economic consideration of the recommended measures.

As an entrepreneur, you will receive a comprehensive audit report.

If a company has several locations, there is the option of a multi-site audit. In this all locations are recorded as "one audit". The audit report then contains a common part and an individual part for each location.

The energy audit does not result in any obligation for the entrepreneur.

The implementation of the measures is voluntary.

Therefore, an energy audit is not sustainable and the calculated savings are only theoretical.
